Any prices, guide costs or timescales shown are indicative only and do not constitute a quotation or a binding offer. A formal, fixed quote is provided in writing after a site survey.
Building and renovation work
Any construction, renovation or related work we carry out for you is governed by a separate written contract agreed between us. Nothing on this website forms a contract for those services, and these website terms do not replace or vary the terms of any such contract.
Free, no-obligation quotes
We provide free, no-obligation quotations for building and renovation work. A quote follows a site visit and is issued in writing. Requesting a quote does not commit you to any work, and we will never chase you for a decision.
Pre-Purchase Property Assessments
Our free, no-obligation quotations apply to clients who own, occupy or have completed the purchase of the property where the proposed work will take place.
Where a client is considering purchasing a property and requires renovation costs to help assess its suitability or inform a purchase decision, this is provided through our paid Pre-Purchase Feasibility Service.
The service costs £500 including VAT and includes:
- An on-site walkthrough, subject to the seller or agent granting access.
- A review of the proposed renovation scope.
- Initial observations regarding buildability, access and site logistics.
- Identification of work likely to require planning permission, Building Regulations approval or specialist advice.
- A written preliminary budget estimate broken down by the principal work categories.
The report and budget estimate are based on a visual inspection and the information available at the time. They are intended for preliminary budgeting purposes only and do not constitute a building survey, property valuation, structural engineer's report, planning advice or fixed construction quotation. Opening-up work, intrusive investigations and concealed defects are not included.
Any structural, electrical, heating, drainage, asbestos or other specialist assessments required must be undertaken by appropriately qualified professionals. These are not included in the £500 fee. Where our walkthrough identifies that a structural engineer's report or other specialist advice is needed before a reliable budget can be given, we will tell you, and the cost of that report is payable separately to the professional concerned (or to us, if you ask us to arrange it, at a price agreed in writing beforehand).
The £500 fee is payable before the assessment is undertaken. If the client subsequently purchases the assessed property and appoints Hangard Construction to complete the proposed renovation works, the full £500 will be credited against the first construction invoice. The credit has no cash value and cannot be transferred to another person or property.
Further investigations, changes to the proposed scope, professional fees, revised designs or additional site visits are not included unless agreed separately in writing.
Consumers booking this service online, by telephone or away from our business premises normally have a 14-day cancellation period. Where a client asks us to begin the service during that period, we will obtain their express written request. If the service is then cancelled after work has begun, the client may be charged a proportionate amount for work already completed. Once the service has been fully performed following the client's express request and acknowledgement, the statutory cancellation right may be lost.
These terms do not affect the client's statutory rights.

The content of this website, including text, images, photography, graphics, layout and design, is owned by or licensed to Hangard Construction and is protected by copyright and other rights. You may not copy, reproduce or republish any part of it without our prior written permission.

Our liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, this website, or from reliance on any content on it.
